trend 与tendency 辨析:

tendency仅仅指趋向,如:she has the tendency to work late.

trend强调要变化或发展的趋势,如:fashion trend流行趋势;The trend is toward working longer hours for less money.

从中可见,tendency指的是倾向,trend指发展、变化趋势,具有动态含义。

tendency比trend更抽象化
