Lead-in and warming-up

Lead in the new lesson by pictures of famous paintings, and then ask students to list other styles of paintings.

2. Warming-up

Show students some world famous artists and their works. Ask them to conclude the characters of Chinese and western paintings.

Pre-reading

Which do you think has a greater change in Chinese and Western countries? why?

And then introduce the new lesson--"a short history of western painting"
