~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Television can be a way of learning and relaxing. But studies show that too much television can make kids more likely (可能的) to be fat and fight with others.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP,美国儿科学会) says that older kids shouldn't watch more than 1-2 hours of television every day, and that kids under the age of two should not watch any television. The shows kids watch should be educational. All in all, kids shouldn't watch too much television. You should ask them to spend more time playing with friends, exercising or reading.
It was sunny last Saturday. I told my mom that I wanted to go to the park. But when I got out, I ran for half an hour to meet my friends, Bert and Kevin, on the beach.
We played volleyball for an hour. Suddenly, Kevin hit (打) the ball into the sea. I wanted to show off (炫耀) how well I swam so I decided to get the ball. I jumped into the sea and started swimming. After swimming for about fifteen minutes, I was tired. But the ball was only a few meters away from me. I tried to get the ball. However, some grass (草) stopped me. I tried but I couldn't swim. I shouted for help. A young man came to help me quickly. When I woke up, I was in the hospital. I saw my parents sitting on the chair. They were angry (生气的) with me.
I will never forget the scary experience. I will never want to show off again.
