Introduction

In this period students will be first helped by the teacher to discover and learn to use some useful words and expressions, and then to discover and learn to use the following useful structures: the ~ing form as the attribute & adverbial. 1. Warming up by discovering useful words and expressions

Turn to page 28 and do the exercises first. Check your answers against your classmates'.

2. Reading and thinking

Turn to page 26 and read the text of COMMUNICATION: NO PROBLEM? As you read along, pay attention to the uses of the ~ing form as the attribute & adverbial.
