Teaching aims:

1. To learn how to protect themselves from traffic accidents.

2. To design slogans and write an action plan.

Teaching procedures:

Step1: Lead-in

1. Free talk: Ask two questions

How do you come to school every day?

Have you been caught in a traffic accident?

2. Learn some road signs in the form of a competition.

3. Watch a PSA,and think about the cause of the traffic accident in it.

4. Ask about other causes.

Step 2: Fast reading

Read the notice quickly and answer two questions.

1.What's the aim of the notice?

2.What three kinds of people should be responsible for traffic accidents?

Step 3: Careful reading

1.Watch a video carefully,pay more attention to the causes of traffic accidents

and how to be safe on the road.

2.Show the causes of traffic accidents

3.Match the following pictures with the causes mentioned in the text

in the form of a competition .

Step 4: Discussion

　　How to be safe on the road as drivers,cyclists,pedestrians? Different groups

　　have different tasks.
