Unit2 Revision and Writing

1. Teaching Analysis 教情分析

1) Teaching objectives-教学目标

  After this period, students shall be able to write a simple short advertisement-to sell an idea or something, following three basic principles: arousing interest, showing advantages and sending invitation.

2. Student analysis学情分析

1) Fundamental state基本情况

  In previous lessons, students have learnt some basic knowledge of writing, and they already know how to write a story, how to write an email and how to describe something. However, they have never encounter persuasive writing. They may have no idea of this practical genre at all.

2) Knowledge reserve知识储备

  As the last period of the unit, students are equipped with good food vocabulary by now and they have a very good understanding of the passage in this unit. They have talked about their favorite food and they have seen two samples of advertisement. Therefore, it should be easier for them to write an advertisement of their own on the same topic.

3.Teaching procedures-教学进程

Step Ⅰ General revision of the whole story

1. Read through reading part 1 and part 2 again and answer the following questions.

1. What were Yong Hui's restaurant's advantages?

2. What changes did Wang Peng make to win his customers back?

3. How did the story ended?

Suggested answers:

1. She served much protective food with little fat and oil so that people might get slim easily.

2. Wang Peng made a new sign and put on a discount to his restaurant, cutting down oil and fat and adding more fruits and vegetables at the same time.

3. Wang Peng and Yong Hui got married and opened a new restaurant.
