Period 1 Warming up, Pre-reading and reading

一、教学内容分析

1.Warming up

⑴Show 8 kinds of music

⑵Learn what's students' favorite music and feelings according to some questions

2. Pre-reading

Lead students' thinking to the reading part by asking some questions about music

2. Reading

In the passage students can learn something about the band.

二、学生学习情况分析

Students are interested in the topic of music. In the Warming up and Pre-reading

part students should know something about music but students are not familiar with some new words and can't grasp the passage immediately.

三、教学目标

1.知识目标:

1)Students should learn some useful words and phrases:

musician, clap, passer-by, form, extra, earn, advertisement,

2 attractive, instrument, loosely, actor dream of, be honest with, play jokes on, or so, break up.

3)Students should understand the general idea of the passage

2.语言能力目标:

1)Develop the Ss'skills of skimming, scanning and careful reading.

3)Encourage the Ssto guess the new words according the reading.

3.情感态度与文化意识目标:

1)Encourage the Ss to share the different kinds of music.

2)Improve the cooperation and share among the students.

五、教学过程

Step 1Warming-up

1. Show pictures of eight kinds of bands to the students.

2. Play different kinds of music and get the Ss to answer the questions

in the Warming-up

Step 2 Pre-reading (5 minutes)

1. Get some students to discuss the questions.

2. Ask Ss to show the information they find on the internet about the

Monkees to us.
