  Mohandas Gandhi was born in 1869 and died in 1948. He was called the "Father of India". Due to his brave actions against the British, his country became independent and free.

  Gandhi came from a rich family and travelled to England to continue his studies at 19. But after his schooling had ended, he went to South Africa to become a legal advisor. Gandhi experienced racial prejudice against Indians there and began his work in civil rights. Once back in India, he led a lot of protests and fought for Indian independence through non-violent methods.

  In his life, Gandhi fought bravely for the freedom of his people and will remain respected forever.
