运用The guided discovery method来教学及引出所学语法。此处既是lead-in又是presentation。

T: Good morning, boys and girls.

S: Good morning, teacher.

T: Last weekend, my friend Linda came back home from America. We haven't seen each other for many years. So I planned to invite her to play with me. So I sent her a message.

"Can you play basketball with me on tomorrow afternoon?" She said "Sure, I'd love to". I was so happy. But she finally refused me, because she said "But I'm afraid not. I have the flu." So why can't she play with me on tomorrow afternoon?

S: She has the flu.

T: Yes. So we can know So, Linda is not available on tomorrow afternoon, right?

S: Yes.
