1、无线电波(radio waves)

  波长大于1mm(频率小于300GHz)

  Radio waves have the largest wavelength (波长)in the electromagnetic spectrum(电磁波谱).One of their main uses is to carry messages and signals over large distance. 无线电波主要用于通信、广播及其他信号传输

  微波(Microwaves)

  If microwaves (微波)strike a metallic(金属的) object they are reflected(反射).This is the principle(原理) behind radar which is used to detect (侦察)the movement of aircraft,ships and cars. RADAR stands for Radio Detection And Ranging(定位).

2、红外线(infrared rays) 1800年,[英]赫歇尔(Herschel)发现

  Anything gives off infrared rays(红外线). It is not possible to see it with our eyes but we can feel it as heat radiation(热辐射).Some animals such as rattle snakes(响尾蛇) have very sensitive(敏感的) infrared sensors which they use to detect the warm bodies of their prey(猎物).

(3)波长较长,衍射现象显著

3、可见光(visible light)

可见光的波长范围:400nm~760nm

This is the only part of the electromagnetic spectrum(电磁波谱) which can be seen by the eye. Light of different frequencies(频率) is seen as different colors.

If all the colors of visible spectrum (可见光谱)are mixed together they produce white light.
