S2: Tom has short hair and Sam has long hair.(T writes 'short'and 'long 'on the Bb.)

T:Very good, sit down, please. what different between Tara and Tina .

S1:I think Tara's hair is long and straight. Tina's hair is curly.

T:I think maybe Tina sings loudly but Tara is quietly. Do you agree with me?

Ss: Yes.(T writes 'loudly' on the Bb.)

Purpose: Review the description of the characters. By describing the different places between two people help students get more knowledge about the topic of the new unit and cultivate the interest in learning.

Step Ⅱ Complete 1a and 1b.

T: Ok,now complete 1a.Do it by yourself first, and then exchange your opinions with your deskmate . Do you understand?

   Ss: Yes.

T:Now,let's do some listening. Please read the requirement in 1b and number the pairs of twins. (T plays the tape for the students to listen for. )

Purpose: Help students review more about character adjectives . Familiar with the use of comparative degree by listening the tape.

Step Ⅲ Listen again and try to summarize some changing rules of comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs in groups.

T:OK,and then I'll play it again. You have two tasks. First, write down the adjectives and the adverbs you hear in the tape. Second, listen and find out how these dialogues compare two people.

After the listening give Ss 3 minutes to discuss in groups of four. Then ask some Ss to share their answers.
